After a while, we noticed many clients lacked a trusted advisor for managed services such as desktop support and technology management. We hesitated for a long time before entering this business. This was mainly because we have great relationships with many managed service providers (MSPs) and didn’t want to step on their toes in any way. So when we finally decided to jump in, we provided assurances to our MSP partners that we would respect their position with accounts and would continue to support their growth.

Managed services is the practice of outsourcing the responsibility for maintaining, and anticipating need for, a range of processes and functions, for the purpose of improved operations and reduced budgetary expenditures through the reduction of directly-employed staff. It is an alternative to the break/fix or on-demand outsourcing model where the service provider performs on-demand services and bills the customer only for the work done.

ALLO Business Technology Solutions

For clients who lacked a trusted IT advisor, we stepped into the breach. We launched True Owl in 2021 as a provider of managed services. We’ve kept our word to our partners, and we’ve enjoyed watching them grow and prosper. Many have sold their businesses as the managed services industry consolidates, and often the level of local support deteriorates. We are ready to pick up the slack when that happens.

Since the launch of True Owl, Avid itself has been acquired by ALLO Communications. ALLO has allowed us to double-down on our managed services offering, and both our client base and employee numbers have grown several times over.

True Owl now operates under the ALLO Business name, and the services we provide have expanded. We refer to those services as ALLO Business Technology Solutions (or Tech Solutions for short). But our aim is true: we want to earn the right to be your trusted advisor in all that we do!
